[ARCHIVED] Hapeville Police seeking information on a Robbery / Murder on Dorsey Road.

Uniform Patrol Officers responded to the call and observed the victim lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. EMS was notified and upon arrival, transported the victim for medical treatment. The victim identified as Stuart Walton expired en route to Atlanta Medical Center.

The wife of the victim, Lydia Walton reported that as she and her husband were arriving at their home and exiting the vehicle, two black males with handguns approached them in an apparent robbery. One of the suspects told her husband to “Just open the door and get in the house.” Her husband then told her to “Run, run away.” During the apparent robbery, she heard a gunshot as Mr. Walton was shot while attempting to escape.

Detectives are actively interviewing witnesses in the area, and analyzing evidence gathered from the crime scene. Video footage from the immediate area has been obtained and is actively being evaluated for additional evidence.
