A Proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment has been prepared for the purpose of designating certain properties as Mixed Use.
The term mixed use is a land use designation that encourages a variety of land uses, such as residential, retail, service and office in close proximity and even within the same structure. The Plan Amendment has also been prepared to more finely define Mixed Use. The recommendations of the Hapeville Livable Centers Initiative Study have been used to develop a “Low" Intensity, “Medium" Intensity and "High" Intensity Mixed Use classification to be assigned to areas in Hapeville, as appropriate. These designations are indicated on a Proposed Future Development Map.
The Comprehensive Plan Amendment is a draft document that has been reviewed by Planning Commission which has recommended approval of the Plan.
A public hearing will be held on October 21, 2014 for the purpose of soliciting public comment on the proposed Plan Amendment. The Public Hearing will be held during the regularly scheduled Mayor & Council Meeting:
October 21, 2014
6:00 PM?-?8:00 PM
Hapeville Municipal Complex
700 Doug Davis Drive
Hapeville, GA 30354
The Plan is an important document as such plans are used to guide Mayor and Council in rendering zoning and land use decisions.
