The City of Hapeville, Georgia and Gas South are partnering to provide discounted natural gas rates to people who live and work in the City. The partnership offers a discount on all standard rates, and residents and businesses will continue to receive the discount as long as they remain a Gas South customer. New Hapeville customers do not have to pay a deposit, and they will also have their connection fee waved and the opportunity to receive a bill credit for enrolling online.
“In addition to helping residents and businesses save on their gas bill, the program will also benefit the City of Hapeville,” said Mayor Alan Hallman. “The money that’s generated will be used to help fund park improvements in Hapeville’s downtown and neighborhood parks.”
Gas South has similar partnerships with 14 municipalities, five electric membership corporations (EMCs) and one county throughout the state of Georgia. The City of Hapeville is the seventh city or jurisdiction in Fulton County to partner with Gas South, joining Buckhead (via the Buckhead Coalition), College Park, Fairburn, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Union City. Since 2006, the program has helped tens of thousands of customers save more than $8.4 million.
“Hapeville provided us a great opportunity to expand our alliance partnership program to continue to offer the best rates for customers,” said Kevin Greiner, president and CEO of Gas South. “We’re constantly working to expand our presence in Georgia and the program has allowed us to create great relationships that benefit residents and businesses.”
“Hapeville is a great place to live and to conduct business. Community partnerships like this offer our residents and businesses affordable services while giving back to the community,” added Mayor Hallman. “We look forward to working with Gas South to continue to make a difference in our city.”
In April 2015, Mayor and Council entered into a partnership agreement with Gas South. Gas South and City Staff have been working together to develop employee training information and customer educational pieces for the program launch.
