Alcohol Beverage License

How To Apply for An Alcohol Beverage License: For new establishments, it is required that all Alcohol Beverage applicants MUST have a current valid Hapeville Occupational Tax Permit. Please note that you will not start the Alcohol license process until the Business License process is completed and paid in full.

As of January 12, 2022, applicants or licensees must apply for an Alcohol License using the ALP Portal on the Georgia Department of Revenue Website. All applicants applying for a new or renewed retail alcohol license must register an account on the Georgia Tax Center (GTC) and apply for state and local jurisdiction. Once the application is received, the portal will send it simultaneously to the state and the provincial licensing. Please click the link below to be routed to the Georgia Tax Center Website.

IMPORTANT 

If the establishment is a Wholesaler or Manufacturer. The process for the application is as follows; you will apply for an Alcohol license with the PDF application (please see the downloadable application below). All applicants must turn in the completed application and items on the check-off list to the City Clerk’s Office located at City Hall 3468 North Fulton Ave. Hapeville, GA 30354. Applicants must pay the $200.00 administration fee the day of the received application. 

Alcohol Handling Permits (PDF) are required by all employees who dispense, serve, sell, or handle alcohol. Employees must apply for an alcohol handling permit at the Hapeville Police Department located at 700 Doug Davis Drive immediately after the establishment’s Alcohol Beverage Application has been approved by Council and all license fees have been paid. ESTABLISHMENTS CAN NOT SELL ALCOHOL WITHOUT CURRENT SERVER/HANDLING PERMITS. Fingerprints/background checks are required.  

REQUIRED ALCOHOL TAX REPORTS:  Establishments holding an Alcohol Beverage License from the City of Hapeville must submit the required tax reports by the deadline date to 3468 N Fulton Avenue, Hapeville, GA 30354, Attn. City Clerk.

On-Premises Consumption:
 Excise tax-reporting (PDF) for Liquor Sales (to be submitted monthly with payment). Due to the 20th of each month.

 Quarterly Reporting (PDF) of food/alcohol sales; due the last day of the month after each calendar quarter.

Retail and Package Stores:
 Quarterly Reporting (PDF) of food/alcohol sales; due the last day of the month after each calendar quarter.

All businesses with alcohol licenses are required to purchase alcohol from Wholesale Distributors.
