Please join us on Monday, May 28, 2018 to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the United States Military. The service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Hoyt Smith Center, located at 3444 N. Fulton Ave., Hapeville, GA 30354.
The program will begin with Hapeville Public Safety Posting of the colors. The Star Spangled Banner and The Songs of Service performed by vocalist Mayor Alan Hallman, Jimmy Lovern, Alderman at Large Mike Rast and Chris Waller. America the Beautiful and My Country, Tis of Thee performed by vocalist Fracena Byrd. Our guest speaker is Cindy Parsons from the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP). Cindy's son, Shane, entered the US Army and served honorably in a decorated infantry brigade. In 2006, he was critically injured in Iraq. Cindy became his caretaker and a srtong advocate for wounded service members.
Lew Valero will recognize the Hapeville War Dead and he and Steve Lamb will place the wreath. Mahala Broad will complete the program by performing "Taps".
Refreshments will be provided by the Hapeville Historical Society and the Hapeville Service League immediately following the service. Flags will be provided by the Hapeville Exchange Club.
