The City of Hapeville Water Department would like to take a moment to tell residents and businesses about sewer backflow preventers. Any structure attached to a municipal sewer main at or below street level should have a sewer backflow preventer installed on its service lateral to help protect the property. This device helps prevent the possible flooding of premises in the case of a sewer stoppage in a mainline.
